About the Forum
The International Forum on Family Farming and Traditional Communities will take place during COP30 in Belém. It will focus on sustainable agriculture in the context of climate change and will bring together family farmers and traditional communities, public managers, researchers and international partners.
The event aims to strengthen the role of rural and traditional territories in the climate transition, promoting the exchange of experiences and concrete solutions for adaptation, mitigation and sustainable production in the Amazon and other regions of the Global South.
More than just a meeting, the Forum is a space for dialogue, collective construction and valuing knowledge, recognizing agriculture as a pillar for a fair, diverse and sustainable future. At one of the most decisive moments in the history of the Amazon, the event sheds light on the different contributions of rural and traditional populations in the responses to the climate crisis, putting the forest, food and life at the center of the international agenda.
