Deputy Science Director at IPAM, holds a degree in Biological Sciences from the Federal University of São Carlos, a PhD in Human Ecology from the University of California Davis and a postdoctoral degree from the University of Michigan and the National Institute for Space Research (INPE). Researches the local perceptions of changes in ecosystem services, biodiversity and human well-being in the context of exposure and vulnerabilities to climate change risks and integrates traditional knowledge as solutions for regional sustainability. In addition, her work uses the lens of socio-ecological systems to analyze changes in ecosystem services, human well-being, governance, impacts, vulnerabilities and adaptation to climate change.
