Luiz Antônio Martinelli is a professor at the University of São Paulo, allocated at the Center for Nuclear Energy in Agriculture (Cena, acronym in Portuguese), on the Piracicaba campus. He is experienced in ecology, with emphasis on the dynamics of tropical ecosystems using stable isotopes as tracers of carbon, nitrogen and water cycles. Mr. Martinelli holds a Master’s degree in Nuclear Energy in Agriculture and a Ph.D. in Soil and Plant Nutrition from USP, the University of São Paulo. He received a postdoctoral degree from the University of Washington.
