One of the world’s most prominent environmentalists, this historian and politician has been honored with the Champions of the Earth award, the United Nations’ highest environmental accolade, as well as the Sophie Prize from the Sophie Foundation; the Climate Change Prize from the Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation; and The Duke of Edinburgh’s Conservation Award from WWF. She has consistently been ranked among the world’s leading climate figures. A two-term senator, she is currently serving as Brazil’s Minister of the Environment for the second time.
